Princess Tiana is a long-overdue addition to the few brown princesses on TV (or anywhere else for that matter). My 5 year old hooted and hollered about seeing a “Brown Princess” when we watched the preview of this movie, and I truly felt happy for her!
So glad my daugther has a true princess that looks like her! Even though she had to kiss a frog, she’s a true sista! They Kept It Real!
What a great contest! I fanned SK mommy on FB and shared your contest link on my page.
Just tweeted about the contest…even though I really hope to win! lol
The movie looks amazing and it’s fabulous to see the celebration of an African American Princess. Finally!
FINALLY,FINALLY, FINALLY!!!! A Princess that is my daughter!!! *THAT’S ALL* This says it all, everything else is understood!!!
PRINCESS TIANA is ALL of our daughters =)
She’s ambitious, intelligent and beautiful!
Way to go Anika, Oprah, Ne-Yo and everyone who helped to make even the Mommies’ dreams come true =)
GOD BLESS!!!
I cannot TELL you have very excited I am about this film and to finally have a Disney princess that looks like me…more importantly, one that looks like my little girl. I struggled with self-image most of my life and we didn’t always have pretty dolls that made us think we were pretty. So glad to have the beautiful Tiana as a positive image of black beauty for my daughter!!
The significance of Princess Tiana for young kids of color is that anyone can be a princess and make their dreams come true.
Princess Tiana gives every little sunkissed girl a sense of pride, beauty and confidence. Every young lady of color is a princess and their dreams can become a reality. I cannot wait to take my daughter to see the movie and surround ourselves in the goodness that the movie will leave with anyone attending. Can’t wait to meet other sunkissed mommies there!!

I think it is very important to the little girls to have a Princess Tiana. This completes the circle and it also shows girls they all are princess no matter what race they are. Love it.
Princess Tiana is a long-overdue for all of us! I think That I am more excited then my daughter! I have bought EVERYTHING that is out so far with her on it! A REAL Disney BLACK Beautiful PRINCESS NOW WHAT ELSE CAN WE ASK FOR!
My 4 year old daughter just went through a very emotional time after bein singled out as the only African American female in her class. Princess Tiana has been an anchor in the campaign to bring her back to a position where she loves and respects herself as well as other people of different backgrounds. She colored Princess Tiana every color when we printed out coloring pages for her. A very valuable lesson was taught: We are all a human race! She will be seeing the movie opening day.
