Tweet- Love Again
Before I even get into specifics with this track, let me just begin by saying I’m on my fourth listen of this track and it is just as compelling and wow-worty as it was the first time I pressed play. Tweet captured our attention with her debut album Southern Hummingbird and since then has been dropping on the music scene sporadically, dropping a track every now and then. She’s been teasing us for a couple years now saying she was due to release the album Love, Tweet. The only single that was released from the project was “Anymore” and since then Tweet flew out of our lives like birds flying south for the winter.
That was until the track “Love Again” made its way to the Internet this week. This mid-tempo piano driven ballad shows Tweet at her best vocally and lets us know she still has all the elements to make a comeback that will satisfy classic 90s R&B heads like myself. This gracefully beautiful ballad is long overdue and something that you bound to enjoy, even on the seventh or eighth listen. Excuse me while I press play again.

Tiffany Evans – No Longer Here
It seems Tweet is not the only R&B singer to revert back to the classic sounds that worked for so many artists in the early 90s. Tiffany Evans, the 17-year old 2003 Star Search winner, is giving us a vintage mid-tempo with her track “No Longer Here”. If you don’t know who Tiffany is, you have probably seen her playing one of Tyler Perry’s characters children in the motion picture Diary of a Mad Black Woman or in the series The District where she played a small role.
This track is lifted from her sophomore album tentatively titled Ms. Tiffany in which she hopes to infuse a sound that will appeal to any listener no matter their age or situation. This groove-infested mid-tempo does just that. Its lead by a havey bass line and some timely lyrical content. In addition, Tiffany’s vocals are stellar here. She span of her vocal abilities really shines through even in this love song where she takes responsibility for a love gone awry.
