Video Review: Jagged Edge Feat Trina ‘Tip Of My Tongue’
Jagged Edge has given us such hits over the years like “Let’s Get Married,” “I Gotta Be” and “Walked Outta Heaven” but now they’re back with their seventh studio album titled The Remedy, due out in May and has recently released the video to its lead single “Tip Of My Tongue”.
The uptempo club banger features female rapper Trina and Gucci Mane. The visual for the track is the standard hip hop video fare. You’ve got girls, bathing suits, liquor, dancing and plenty of smiles. For Jagged Edge to be a R&B group, they have definitely come hard with the hip-hop flavor that is really quite prevalent in today’s popular music.
Although it’s a smart move to make music that is sure to appeal to today’s younger ears, I can’t say that I’m not disappointed that Jagged Edge didn’t give us a smooth and salacious love song that we’ve grown to expect from them over the years.
This new album will definitely give us more of the slow jams we’ve been accustomed to while sprinkling in a little something for everybody. One thing is definitely sure, they haven’t lost the vocal capability and smooth croon that makes Jagged Edge one of the best male R&B groups there is and one of my personal favorites. This particular track isn’t my cup of tea but its catchy. Definitely catchy.
