Common & Queen Latifah Trade Rhymes For Script Lines
We live in a time when it seems like the entertainment industry is void of films starring actors and actresses of color that depict a good love story but there seems to be a shining beacon of light that may bring a glimmer of light to the darkness that is good film. No, this isnt a Madea flick I speak of (even though I love me some Madea just like the next person). But it’s the newest movie directed by Sanaa Hamri (Something New) titled Just Wright.
It stars Queen Latifah and Common as a physical therapist and basketball player respectively. The flick will also star Paula Patton and Pam Grier in a film that takes a look at what happens when love and success finds you even when you’re not expecting it to. From the looks of this trailer, the film looks it may be pretty good. You know, predictable storyline aside. No, this won’t be a Boomerang or Love Jones but it just might be compariable in the sense that it brings a love for good black films back.
When it’s all said and done, I’m just eager to see a good film and although I love the Queen and Common’s music, they are definitely proving themselves to be more than just masters of flow, but masters of the art of acting as well.
